About
Dutch Hollow Lake:
Dutch Hollow Lake was developed
from about 2500 acres of rolling hills and farmland by damming Dutch
Hollow Creek about a mile before it joins the Baraboo River northwest of
the Village of LaValle, WI.
Branigar Lake Properties of
Wisconsin, the developer, began construction of the dam in 1970. The lake,
when full, impounds about 4,000 acre-feet of water (a little over 1.3
billion gallons). The spillway controls the maximum water level at 960
feet above mean sea level. When at that level, the lake surface area is a
little over 200 acres, the shoreline is about 8.5 miles, and the maximum
depth (near the dam) is about 45 feet. The lake water is supplied by
springs and the run-off from a small watershed of about 3072 acres (about
4.8 square miles). Most of this area is controlled by the Association.
With no point sources of pollution, the lake water should remain as clean
as it is now.
The land area of Dutch Hollow
Lake is shared between 1163 lots zoned for single-family residences and a
"greenway" system of about 700 acres. The greenway system includes nearly
2/3 of the shoreline, wooded areas, trails. You will find that the fishing
is great and so is the boating and swimming. There are miles and miles of
trails for horseback riding as well as hiking, biking and cross-country
skiing. Some of the trails are also open to snowmobiles in the winter.
There is a staffed clubhouse
complete with a pool and tennis courts. A guest house which can be rented
with the appropriate notice. There is a marina with boat storage. This is
truly a rare find with an excellent location about halfway between Chicago
and the Twin Cities and only 25 miles west of the Dells.
Club House
The beautiful air-conditioned clubhouse
overlooks the Lake and private swimming pool. There are two tennis courts
adjacent to the clubhouse. There are daily or annual fees for use of the
tennis courts.

The clubhouse has a large upstairs lounge, which includes comfortable

the clubhouse.

be properly registered and licensed, and the governmental laws and

dock must meet the Department of Natural Resource's requirements and their
plans for the dock must be reviewed and approved by the Association
Architectural Review Committee before construction or initial
installation.
